Stick Jackets

Featured Replies

Anyone ever use these?  I'm curious how spinning gear fits with these.  I have a few salt rods I want to protect and I am wondering if they will fit over that first eye (it's a biggee)

If anyone else is interested , they are available at JBC Outfitters, an advertiser here :)

i use storsit rod covers  hands down best on the market

hey speaking of that, is it worth it buying a reel cover to put over my new baitcaster?

How much is worth your reel ?

How much is worth a reel cover ?

If I sold you my 12 year old first Curado you could swear it 's a brand new out of the box reel, all my reels look like new, even the box and paperwork are like new.

I use stickjackets and like them. They can be a little tight over the biggest eyelet at the bottom though but offer great protection.

I've used the ones I got from FiveBassLimit (scott). They work great but I don't think they're suitable for spinning rods.

Anybody know what that stuff is called they make those out of, it's some sort of polyproplene webbing.

I make my own from some military poncho material you can buy at some WalMarts. I customize them to fit each rod. I made 18 of them for like 7 bucks. (I ain't ashamed to say that I know how to use a sewing machine.)

Russ, I don't use Stick Jackets.  I use the Rod Socks available from BPS.   They seem to have ample room to cover even the line guides of a salt water rod.  They are great for fresh water, but I wouldn't use them for Salt water unless I applied a sealer to them.  Come to think of it, I just finished resealing my boat cover and I have quite a bit of sealer left over.  I do believe that I will be soaking some rod socks tomorrow.  Thanks for giving me the idea.

As for reel covers for spinning gear, I haven't found one I liked yet.  The reel covers from BPS are crap for spinning reels.
