Abu Garcia Revo S reel

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I just visited a local tackle shop and discovered this reel. Seems to be a great reel at a great price. Just wondering if any of you have used an Abu Revo S and how did you think it performed?

I am curious as well.  I have the SX-HS and love it!  I am curious to know what the S is like after a season.

I would not hesitate in a minute to pay $100 for that reel, or even the SX at $150.  Buying those 2 reels has really made fishing much more enjoyable.  Go for it :)

I've had mine for several months now and love it.  Well worth the money IMO.

My only beef with the S is opening and closing the sideplate, otherwise I love it.  But normally its 3 in and 3 out so I dont have to do it that often.

I agree with Pond Hopper.  The only disadvantage i've discovered is the side plate.  Luckily I haven't had to change mine since i've had it, but if you like to constantly tinker with your reels I could see how this one could be frustrating.

Thanks for your help guys.

Check the forums and Ebay.  You can pickup a Revo S for under $90 if you're not in a hurry and a Revo SX for $120 or less.

i would just spend 50 more dollars for the sx

Same here, I hate the VBS

I've got a pair of Revo S reels I got 1 year old used.  Seriously, I can't tell the difference between them and a new one.  Still silky smooth and functionally perfect.
