telescoping rods?

Featured Replies

i went looking at boats with my step dad the other day, andthe one place carried fenwick rods, so while he was talking boats i was checking out the rods...they only had a few, a real nice M/XF and another...it was a nice cranking rods, MH i think...but the section right above the reel seatallowed a section of the rods to telescope back into the butt....what is the purpose of this?  i have never seen one like it before...

also, the M/XF was a fenwick HMG(HMX cant remember) it was priced at $89.99, anyone know if that would be a good buy?

thanks

This is a feature on many rods 7'6" and up due to their length.  Basically just allows the rod to be shorter for storage purposes

I have 2 Team Daiwa 7' graphite cranking rods that telescope like that.  I really like that feature.  Currently, I can only fit 6'6" rods in my locker and it's just kind of nice to have those 7' rods easily fit in there.
