Drop-Shot Technique in Pads, heavy weeds etc...

Featured Replies

Anyone ever try the drop-shot tech. on any weedy, shallow, lilly pad infested water...if so can you explain your rig, please be specific with sizes, weights and colors....Thanks in advance

i've never done it, but i know of people that do. i think they use a dropshot rod (baitcasting) with heavy floro, a texas rigging style hook, and i'm guessing a heavy weight (3/8oz-1oz?). around here 6" robo worms seem to be popular.

I drop-shot in thick cover with a 7' MH Kistler baitcasting rod and 20lb fluorocarbon or 40lb braid. The rig usually consists of a 2 or 3/0 wide gap offset Owner hook, a RI sweet beaver, 6-12 inch leader, and a 3/8-3/4oz weight. However, sometimes I will drop down to a 2/0 worm hook and ZOOM finesse worm or 4inch roboworm.
