repairing rod tip

Featured Replies

So i just recently bought a shimano crucial and when going to load up my boat I asked my wife to help me carry a couple of rods to the boat. Instead of helping, she decided to close the rod tip in the front door and snap it off. How easy is this to repair? i see rod tip repair kits at tackle shops but have never done any work on a rod before. And if i do repair this on my own, will it have any detrimental effects on the rods peformance.

Thanks for the help
