no i dont just want a purdy rod, and i dont have the money to blow on a purdy rod. and how is that steez affordable?   ;D

what i want is a light, sensative rod, with no foregrip (weight and sensitivity) and a split rear grip (weight) and those combined make for a purdy rod, but i dont want it becuse its pretty.

it sounds like you do because people gave good suggestions and turned them down because they weren't pretty.The  Falcon Weightless Plastics rod should be what you want because it is made specifically for what you are looking for except the purdy factor.

well i wasnt really looking for suggestions to start, i had kinda narrowed it down to those two rods in the start, and just wanted to see if anyone had used them and liked them.

Okay, well i think the best suggestion yet would be the Avid.  I see you go to a Dick's near you, sometimes they will put them on sale for $100-110 bucks

dude ive looked everywhere for an avid. ive called every tackleshop i know of but nobody carries them. ive been to dicks several times and all they had were triumphs and premiers. it sucks...

One of your best options would be to take your reel with you where you plan to purchase your rod and see how it balances and seats on the rod so you have an idea of what your getting. Take the suggestions you get here and try them out see what you like personally. For me my weightless rod is a SPINNING 6'6" G-Loomis GL2 MH action. Works great for distance as well as pitching to structure, for me a spinning reel works perfect for this you have more control over the weightless bait as well as can use lighter line.

I'll vouch for the Falcon weightless rods. Great for senkos, flukes and small tubes.

Throws small jigs really well also.

The soft tip makes it a decent drop shot baitcaster.

Agreed.  Rod weight doesn't mean squat unless the weight was shaved in the right places.

haha true. im just trying to see the options and what works best. i think i'll look into the falcon rod some more b/c i do throw stick baits ALOT. how does it handle small jigs and stuff (below 1/2oz.)?

That should be the rod of choice if your looking  for a weightless plastics rod.

I bought this rod last year (in the GLX version, though a Mossyback would be a good rod as well) and I couldn't imagine a better Senko rod.  This sucker can cast that worm a mile and is very accurate for a long rod.  Also, with the added length, picking up slack is a breeze for better hook sets.  I know this is not one of your choices, but I just thought I would share my opinion.

Just get a rod already !

If you can only spend $170 I'd say get the powell. If you can spend $220 get a IMX loomis rod.
