Ok, i just went and bought 3 jigs, and a uncle Josh Pork rind mini frog trailor jar

i bought 2 Strike Kind Bitsy Flip 1/4 oz, and a booya baby boo jig 5/16

will these jigs work for pig and jig???

I am completely new to this bait, is it fished the same as a jig

any ideas for me??? as much info as possible

i was just gonna hook it on, wil that work???

Most of the time I have heard that using a pork trailer should be done on 1/2 ounce and up jigs. Don't know how much truth there is to that.

I use mostly smaller trailers on the bitsy bugs like zoom small chunks. Although you did say that it was a mini frog. Whats the size on it and are they wide?

i definately think i screwed up sizing a little bit

they are mini frogs, but looking at them right now, they arent that tiny

You can try the pork with a little jig, they bass may like it, but I usually don't use those unless the jig is 3/8 or more, also depending on the size of the pork.  I almost always use plastic trailers anyway with some MegaStrike smeared on.  With the Booyah Bitsy jig, which is a jig I really like, try a little plastic craw or a little plastic chunk trailer.  Yum makes, in my opinion, the best plastic jig trailers.  

Good luck with your jigs - once you get a little confidence in them, they're a lot of fun to use.  I love getting bit with a jig cuz I'm always thinking it's a lunker.

What different size trailers either pork or plastic do is they will change the fall rate which is a good thing. #18 Uncle Josh Mini Trailer is 1 1/2 x 3/4 which is an ideal suit for a 1/4 5/16 oz jig; another ideal match for a 1/4 - 5/16 oz jig is the Kicker Frog at 2 1/2 x 5/8.

Sometimes I will oversize my trailers on purpose to get a slower fall.  It may be what the bass want.  I don't think you screwed up at all.  Try it and don't give up on the jig.  It's a killer bait to throw or pitch or flip or.............

I use those small type jigs for flipping and they work fine for me. For example alot of the time I use a size 3/16 Booyah Baby Boo jig with a whole sabertail bug as the trailer, works great for me. I also do pretty well with the small Yum chunk trailers on 1/4 oz bitsy bugs.
