I'm thinking of making this my flippin stick.  Has any one used this model?

2nd question-  Do you like the recoil guides?

99% certain I'll be using braid.

I also have the same question I was thinking about getting the BCR855 or 854 for flipping

Also how does it compare to the IMX MRB843C?

I have the MRB843c and 844c.  One is IMX and the other is GLX.  The ones you listed arent flipping sticks though.

What model? BCR? BCFR? Ect...Mossybacks come in a few models with both fast and extra fast actions.

The recoil guides suck on spinning rods with line that has memory. They have held up fine when I went to braid. That's all I have been using with the guides since I first got it and found mono with any memory sucked.

I have the GLX rod, so I can't compare the Mossyback performance to the MBR other than the MBR has the fast action, making for a little more forgiving tip. Hooksets will be a little more abrupt, I guess you could say, with the BCR. A little better suited for jigs and worm hooks where the MBR, like most fast action rods, is more of a general purpose rod. That's why I got an MBR, I wanted a nice heavy duty general purpose rod to go with my SJR lighter duty GP rod.

I have the G Loomis Mossyback BCR894C that I use for flipping and I love it.  That main reason I did not want the GLX version was because of the fact that I like using braid for flipping and I didn't want the recoil guides (I have the G Loomis Mossyback Carolina Rod BCR874 also, which is another great rod).  I had a telescopic flipping stick, but it was too heavy and I didn't like the telescoping part.  The Mossyback is very lightweight (for a flipping stick), though, it obviously is not as light as the GLX version and it may not be as sensitive, but the Mossyback is a beast.  You can really rip the fish out of heavy cover with this stick.  I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a lightweight flipping stick without the Recoil Guides.
