I really like how these look....I gotta see them in person. I really like the price...I hope it's not a typo on Cabelas part.

What they say about the rods sounds fantastic & I like the carbon handle. If the handle feels slippery, I would wrap in cloth tape, which can be changed when it craps out. I would think you will still get the sensitivity through the cloth tape, not like on a cork or EVA handle.

I think Cabela's has a winner...now I just need to see the rods in person to see what it's all about.

why does it have to be like a cumara to be an answer to it?if you go by that we couldn't compare a lot of rods and reels.it's different by the reel seat then the lamiglas.years ago i know a guy who had a rod made that way so the concept isn't that new.he loved the sensitivity of the rod.i would be worried about how well these skelital reel seats hold the reels.

Hi ghost! You probly know me from the BPS forums, my username there is dbrev42.  I'm fairly new here, and i love it. Lots of great fisherman and the members are always active. Anyway to get to the point of your post, the cumara is nothing like the other rod you posted. But, for 100 bucks, it sure beats $200!!!

I would say they are not quite the same as the Cumara. They have a simular exposed blank under the reel, like a lot of makers have, but I don't see the magtouch being aimed directly at it. The Cumara has a 2 piece reel seat whereas the XMG and Magtouch have a frame between the front and rear seat. The XMG 50 and the Magtouch are no doubt in the same catagory. If I remember right, doesn't the E21 rods have a 2 piece seats???

Honestly, I wouldn't put a $3 reel on a Cumara, much less one I liked. IMO, the added stress of not having a full framed reel seat is not a good idea. Under heavy load that reel will see a heavy foot load from the blank flexing becouse of no support. The reel will also see torsional load from not having a frame under the reel as you turn the crank, and fight fish. Either the foot on the reel will give way, or the seat will keep coming loose as the rod and reel shift around.

I was looking at these rods today. They're nothing like the Cumara, they're quite similar to the Lami rods that have been posted, which I was thinking about getting a little while ago.
