Help Picking 1 line for it all

Featured Replies

Im looking for the best choice in line for a basic all around rod.

On a baitcaster, I use for cranks, jerk-baits, top-waters, spinners, swim-baits

I have a setup I use for heavy cover with braid, a setup for soft-plastics and light jigs with flouro but i need some help choosing line and lb test for an all around deal.

I was thinking of Mono, but some recommendations on brands and lb test would be great.

The waters i fish are mostly clear, and i usually don't fish deeper than 10ft.

Thanks.

Not saying its right, but i only use P-line cxx.

There is no such thing. If you only use one line in one rating, you will compromise some of the effectiveness of some of those baits.

Well, my 2 cents would be a tough mono in the 10-15lb test range. Trilene XT, Sufix Siege, ect....

15 lb. flourescent

Although I am starting to use Trilene 100% Flouro, most of my outfits(7 out of 10) have Big Game 15# green. No it is not as supple as XL, fish see it better than flouro, not as thin or strong as braid, but it does virtually everything I need it to do.

Berkley Big Game 15# Mean Green  :P
