rod storage?

I thought since i was going to buy a real nice rod i better make sure it is stored properly.

how do you suggest i store it. it is a 6'6" med rod

and if you know where to get any cases for storing cuz i do quite a bit traveling to get to my destinations

    i saw some real nice hard cases at gander mt yesterday...I think around $60

    I keep all my rods in rod socks and use reel covers..Going to the lake I carry them in a BP rod bag which holds up to 8 7' combo's..I have reels over 10 y/o that have been used hard but still look brand new
