Swimbait Rod Question

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

Thinking about setting up a rod and reel just for my basstrix and other

swimbaits. What would you suggest on length? Also should I get one

that is MH or what? Any suggestions I appreciate it. Oh also I want to

only spend about 150 bucks at the most.

What are your other swimbaits you are throwing??  For the basstrix you should be able to use a MH.  Anything over 2 oz, I would get a heavier rod.  Try the Okuma guide series, they are in your price range and are a good big bait stick.  I would go with a 7-6.  Just my .02.

I just got one of these. Its great, I can't wait to get it wet. You shouldn't need a specific rod for basstrix though. I would think a MH or even a M would work.
