Of the 3 BC what one would you buy? I was in the Mesa Az. Store this week and they had the Rick Clunn BC on Sale for $79.99. Does anyone know if that is on sale at the Chicago Store?

Do you mean KVD reel?

I have two Rick Clunn Reels and two Extreme reels.  I really can't tell any difference in the performance of each reel.  I like the metal drag star and blue better than green.  So I "like" the Rick Clunn more.

My partner has several KVD reels.  I have tried them a time or too but not blown away buy it.

If you choose either BPS reel, make sure you buy it on sale.  They are great deals when on sale!  I got a Johnny Morris reel for $138, Rick Clunn for $59.99 and an Extreme for $47.99 over the last two years.

the rick clunn gets my vote.i have 2 i love.

I dont know anything about those reels but if I had $80ish to spend I would bite the bullet and cough up another $20 maybe and  be looking at a Citica (with rebate about this much) Revo S with a cheap reel trade in at BPS, Daiwa excelor, or Daiwa TD pro, or a plueger. Citica is the only one I can say anything about and will certainly suggest

Can't have any reel thread without a Shimano guy saying Shimano is better.

If you read what I said I didnt just suggest shimano :-? Its the only one I have experience with in his price range. I am sure the BPS stuff is alright but like I said for a couple more $$ I would go with a tried and true brand like Shimano, Daiwa. or Abu. I dont think many would disagree.

Shimano baitcaster.

Has it all over the others.

No offense but the guy didn't ask about a Shimano.  It seems like every time someone asks a reel question regardless of whatever reel it is about, the Shimano guys poke in and say Shimano.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread.  I will not mention it again.

EXTREMES ARE GOOD REELS I HAD A LOT OF HOURS ON THEM, HOW I LEARNED TO BAITCAST, THEY ARE TRIED AND TRUE AND THEY ARE READILY SERVICED BY BPS

I have been here for more than a minute and that is a good observation about a lot of fellas asking for a specific reel, and someone suggests a Shimano. Same with rods, guys ask about a BPS,Cabelas or other rods and the St Croix and Loomis steering starts. It happes too many times not to notice. If some one asks for a rod or reel in a price range I can understand it. Just go through the first 10 pages of this board it happens all the time. No big deal, just look for those who answered the question through actual experience with using the product.

I have some of about everything including a Curado and 2 Rick Clunn's and I can't tell much difference. A buddy has 2 or 3 KVD's and just bought a new KVD this spring. I'd say you would be happy with any choice you make.

i had a johnny morris and had some problems with it. :'( a bearing went out in it soon after i purchased it. bps was not happy about giving me a refund (yes i had my receipt). they actually made me tie on a weight and go outside and demonstrate the problem before they would give me my money back. i purchased a daiwa tierra and it was a better reel. i also have a bps prolite finess reel that casts farther than the daiwa. i wish i had just got another prolite but i didnt :-?. anyway i think the prolite is in the same range and is a great reel.
