Shimano Compre Rods-Who Owns One???

Featured Replies

Baitcasting & spinning rods, are these any good in quality & sensitivity for the price range?

I've got one.  It's a 6'6", medium, fast action spinning rod.  Great all around rod for the money.  I use it with a Shimano Symetre.  I've switched over to a St. Croix Avid, and the Compre does back-up duty or as second rod on the boat.

For the price, they are tough to beat. Shop around though. I bought my MH Spinning compre (2piece) for about $54.

The senisitivity is there, but as the owner of a crucial and compre I will say that the Crucial is more sensitive.

With that said, my MH Spinning compre is sufficiently sensitive for even the subtle take of the drop shot, even as a two piece rod.

Mine is also mated to a symetre. ;)

I have a 6'6" MH Ex-fast Compre and I think it's a great rod for the money. I find it to be quite sensitive and quite strong too. I have used it in some pretty nasty situations. What are you planning on using it for?
