I have a quanyum heat rod and was kind of wondering about the construction. It says graphite on it, so it is at least part graphite, but it does not look nor feel like any other graphite rod I have ever picked up, much less used. Also it says medium power, but if you wiggle it you can NOT get the tip to hold still. I was just curious, because I have read that graphite rods are not that good for treble lures.

Don't know for sure but I'm guessing its an Extra Fast tip.

Probably a composite. Graphite and Glass.

The power rating (backbone) is medium, and the tip you describe IMPO is a mod tip action (kind of like the ugly stix).

This rod is could be used for trebles...
