Knob to stop line on a baitcast from spinning?

Featured Replies

hey guys i was watching a basspro.com video about flippin and pitchin and the guy said theres a knob on all baitcasts to stop the line from spinning when it hits the water. he did a demonstration on how to set it, and he just held his rod up and let the bait hit the floor and turned it till it stopped. well my problem is i have a BLUE DAIWA SAMURAI 100 6X BAIT CAST reel and i dont know if i have a knob or not. I see a circle knob on the right of it, but it doesnt work, and im not sure if im supposed to take it off first.  heres a link to my reel

It should be on the crank side of the reel, just to the rear of the drag star, in line with the center of the spool.

I lost my knob,it fell in the water last year. I have a Citica, where can I get another? Should I call Shimano?

The first problem I can't help you with, but Citicas you can get at almost any Shimano retailer, or ebay.
