For some reason I cant find the actual weight of different types of rods. Is there a reason the weight isnt shown, or is there a place where I can find the weight of different rods?

St. Croix lists the weights in their catalog (at least they did in the 2007 edition), G. Loomis does not list weights in their catalogs and the Bass Pro catalog does not list weights. I know of no place where you can find comparable weights on different makes of rods.

I have a small digital postal scale that weighs in 1/10 of ounces and have weighed some of my rods out of curiosity. I have been surprised at some of the weights of different rods, as far as the ones touted to be so much lighter when compared to others.

Which ones did you compare? Have you weighed any all stars by chance.  Pretty much Im just looking for a good light weight rod for less than $90.  

reed's fishing  (reedssports.com) lists several weights on the croix, loomis and others...not all, but most.

they don't list it for a few reasons but weight alone means very little.  You'll feel the balance 10 times more than the weight.
