I recently busted a guide on my St Croix Premier crankbait rod. Although it is a small repair should I take this opportunity to upgrade to one of the tournament bass rods through there warranty program? I am going to have $30 in the repair and shipping which is 1/4 the cost of the rod new.    >

Either way, if it's a cranking rod, I wouldn't upgrade.  I just don't think you'll realize a gain of any sort, except the blue rods look great.  ...lol

Just my opinion, CB rods are a different animal.

Yeah. I was thinking the same way. I would probably get a different model other than a CB rod. Maybe the Topwater, Teaser or Big Jig rod.

I have another CB rod as well, but I find it is too heavy small cranks. So I need a CB rod.

It looks like an excuse to buy two more rods.
