Quest Rods

Featured Replies

Hey guys I am new to the forums.  I did a search and couldn't find anything on these rods.  I bought one at Dick's about a year ago and it has been a really nice rod.  Durable and cheap!  I paid 24.00 for a 6' medium action rod that had 9 Fuji guides.  Its also an IM-7 but I kinda believe this doesn't really mean that much.  I don't know how sensitive it is because I only throw topwaters and crankbaits with it.

Do you guys have any experience with these rods?  I have heard they are made by Northwest Outfitters but I am not sure.  I think Quest is actually a fly rod company too but I have no idea.

Thanks guys.

Quest is a Dick's Sporting Goods brand. They make everything from fishing poles to sleeping bags and tents. As far as I know (from a Dick's manager--I used to work there), the "Quest" brand is replacing the "Northwest Outfitter" brand

Their rods are pretty decent for the money, I had one for a little smallie setup until I slammed the tip in a door. I definitely wouldn't buy them to dedicate to my everyday setup but they are ok rods to throw on inexpensive combos for kids or beginners or for backup setups. Overall, great for the money, but I would spend more to get a more sensitive, strong, and durable rod.

Dominion Dan,

Quest is a Dick's Sporting Goods brand.
I don't think so...LL Bean, Alibris, The Lake Shop, LLC, and a couple of ther shops are selling them....

Do a Google search.... ;)

Show me these places selling Quest rods...The only thing I found was the Quest brand at Dick's and fly rods w/ the model name "Quest II" at LL bean which are LL Bean brand, not Quest.

Big Tom, if the rod is the Quest brand whose logo is sort of like this picture without the direction letters and with "QUEST" written across it, then it is the Dick's exclusive brand.

Yeah mine has that logo and such on it.  Thanks for the input guys.  I was actually wondering what everyone that used these rods thought of them.  Like I said, I use mine for walking topwaters and throwing cranks and it really has saved me from scuffing my other, much nicer rods when I fish from the bank.  I think for 25 bucks its a pretty good rod.

Yeah, the "quest" brand with that logo is one of Dick's exclusive brands.

I agree with you though, they are a very good rod for $25
