I have narrowed my choices down to the Shimano Chronarch 100B, Daiwa Zillion 100HA, and Abu Revo STX. If i got the Shimano or Daiwa I would upgrade to ceramic bearings and maybe a bearing supported handle for the Daiwa. Which one would you guys suggest if you had to pick one? If you have any other suggestions please tell them. Also if you know where to get the ceramic bearings for the Shimano and Daiwa please tell. It will go on a custom built Gloomis MB784 IMX. Thanks

Depend what your using the reel for? I like to stick with the daiwa's, but i cannot deny the quality of shimano.

Any of the reels you listed are good reels and will serv you well.

Because the reels you have listed carry ABEC3 stock SS bearings going to a ceramic ABEC7 will not show you that much return for your money IMPO. I wouldn't upgrade past ABEC5 in Stainless or Ceramic...And personally I wouldn't go Ceramic because of the frequency of re-lube you have to go through.

Also if you know where to get the ceramic bearings for the Shimano and Daiwa please tell.

Hopefully you will have the reel and the rod will be built to the reel, don't just have a rod built and place a reel on it.

I have 4 Revo STX reels and love them.  I had a Shimano Curado and took it back as it had about 1/4" of play in the handle when holding the spool down and applying pressure.  They are great reels, but I got a lemon so I opted for the STX and never looked back.  Awesome products.

I've never used a Zillion, but if I had to choose between the Curado and the STX, it would be the STX hands down.

That's funny I went to try out a 200 series Curado and the thing was huge compared to my Revos.  I also tried the 100 series which was pretty close to size of the Revo.  But it also that 1/4" play in the spool/handle situation that you mention.  I was sold on the Curado and asked the sales man for 2nd one without the play, the next one he took out had the play as well.  I left with another STX.
