Acadia Rods

Featured Replies

Anyone know anything about them, good bad or indifferent?  Any help would be appreciated.

This question comes up periodically If anyone buys one a review would be helpful :-?

i think a lot of people are interested because the price is good for 2 Rods (buy one get one) but a little nervous that maybe you get what you pay for. And thats how i feel about it. I'd love to see an honest, unbiased review from someone on THIS site.

I really know nothing about them, but as a rod builder... I can say that you usually get what you pay for! Quality components and blanks aren't cheap! That's not to say that they won't catch fish.

I bought two P series casting rods this fall and have used them .I do like them. They are well made light  sensitive and defininatly well worth the price.  On other forums I read where a rod was broken and Acadia replaced it only charging the shipping cost which by the way was only around $15.00 to my door in Pa from Texas (not bad considering they were one piece )They also shipped very quickly, I had my rods in 4 days.

The only draw back is there are only a few rods that come in one piece that I wold use for bass fishing. They claim to be making some improvements in that area but I've not seen any so far. I will buy more when the new models come out.

TheBeast bought a couple of them last year.  I think he likes them.  I'll get him over here...

I do like them.  They are made well and have a good feel and action to them.  It is true you get what you pay for, but with these you are getting a little more than you pay for.   I broke on of mine during a tournament, was changing rods and it was in the dark of a night tourny and I grabbed it to close to the tip and of course snap.  It had nothing to do with the quality of the rod same would have happened with any of my other $150 rods, but I bet that if it happened to any of the other rods I wouldn't have gotten a replacement in 3-4 days.  I called told them I had broken one they verifyed my address and sent a new one no questions asked, didn't even charge me any extra shipping and I didn't have to send the old back first or at all.

I highly recommend these for a quality economy based rod for the person wanting a $100 rod but not wanting to or unable to pay $100 for a rod.

Thanks Beast, since I have been here ,periodically this question has come up. It is good to see a product for guys on a limited budget, that is backed by the distributor!

I actually live in Irving, TX and have been to the office.

The F-Series are comparable to the older Berkley Lightning Rods. The P-Series are nice rods. They are comparable to the All Star and Castaway rods that usally sell for $75-100. They do not compare to the Loomis and Kistlers by no means. They are probably just a slight step down from the Shimano Crucials. These will probably be my next rod purchase.

I got the two for the price of one deal.  I bought the bait casting P-series and took the Spinning rod as the free second rod.  I love both of them. The P-series use Fugi materials.

They have some new good looking crank baits now also and a  baitcaster reel

Thanks for the info.  I'm a big fan of direct to consumer products, but without unbiased reviews it can be difficult to tell when claims are too good to be true.  I've been hoping to get a Crucial MH this year.  If finances don't work out, maybe I'll consider Acadia as a temporary fix until next year.  Cheers

I bought the 2 for 1 P series.  7'6" and 7".  They are good stiff rods.  The 7ft is MH the stiffness compares to my MH 7ft Loomis IMX.  It's about twice the weight though.  The guides are huge in comparison.  This could be a source of some of that weight.  I am not the best judge of sensitivity but I can say it dose not compare in sensitivity to a crucial, but is a lot better than my ugly stick.

For the price of $35 on my door step I think its good, but you have to buy 2 of them. ;)

I am keeping the 7'6" for swim baits.

If any experienced hands want to give the 7'ft a thorough review I will pass it along for $20 shipping only.  When you're done with the review, if you don't want it, pass it along to someone who needs it.

Just do a search on them.  You won't find a lot of resources, but the ones you do are very informative.  They have a few sites like Ultimate Bass and the Bass Fishing Forum, no comparisons to this one.  ;)  These rods are a great alternative if you don't want to spend a ton of money to get a good rod.  Some people just like to spend more money, its in their nature.  Its like saying "why buy a Caddy when you can by a Chevy?"  People perceive value differently.  The baitcaster reels are not bad either.   8-)

Hey, just thought I would add my .02 worth since I have learned so much from this website. Awesome website guys. Anyways, I consider myself a fairly serious fisherman. I don't really fish in too many tournaments, but I live on a lake and I fish nearly every day. I ordered 2 of these rods and put a Diawa Megaforce on one and a Quantum AC500CX Accurist on the other. This was last fall. I have fished HARD with both of these and I love em! No problems so far, and I can say I have put them through it. I got them both for 60 bucks I think. Best bang for the buck out there in my opinion. I don't think I will be buying expensive rods anymore. If I recall it is the F series that I bought. I am getting ready to buy 2 more.
