Citica vs. Revo SX???

Featured Replies

Which is the better reel? Or are they pretty comparable?

I can only speak for the Citca vs Revo S.

Too me the Citica felt more "solid". The drag felt smoother, and access to the spool was much easier. Backlashes also were easier to avoid with the Citica IMO. So I sold my Revo S and bought two more Citicas.

I hope to find out this weekend. My son just got a couple Citica's this month and my Revo SX-HS should be here today or tomorrow.

I'm so glad he bought some good reels. I was getting neck pain from constantly spinning my head around everytime his old reel would make very bizarre noises on casts and lock up. :(

I know he really likes the Citica's, I've been an Abu Garcia man all my life, I got that from my dad.

Twice now I've gone to the tackle store to buy a Citica as a cheaper alternative to my STXs and Revo Premier and both times I came home with a Revo SX.  Now that first SX had some issues but I'm pretty happy with the 2nd.  Overall the SX just felt like a more smooth solid reel.  If  had to do it again I'd get the Revo S over the SX and Citica.

I own 2 STXs, 1 Curado, and previously owned 2 citicas and a 2 SXs.

I did not like the SX, but LOVE the STX.

If I were to pick between the Citica and SX, I'd take the Citica.

Or if I had the extra bit of money, I'd get the STX on Ebay for $170 shipped to your door.
