I have a Abu Revo S and new acquired Quantum Tour Edition PT with the 7.0:1 burner gear.

The question I have is I want to try braid, Sufix Elite Braid,and I was wondering what reel woudl be better for the braid?

I am thinking of going to the Revo S and use the TE with preinstalled Yo-Zuri Hybrid line as my main Plastics setup.

Any thoughts??

Either reel should handle braid equally as well. Do you have these reels matched with a rod for specific techniques? That would dictate which one the braid should go on. Meaning that if you were going to use one for pitching/flipping in heavy cover, then put the braid on that. If you are going to be using one for slow presentations in clearer water, then put the Yozuri on it.

If you try it with the Revo S, you should make a post with your review. I have this reel and am thinking of tryin braid myself.

A baitcaster!!!!

I use my 7:0:1 Curado for treble baits so I use mono for the fast retrieve and hookup.

I use my Curado 200 with braid when fishing frogs, trick worms and plastics in and over grass and pads or flipping/pitching into wood or heavy cover.

The main reason I do not use braid on my Curado 7:0:1 is that I only use it for fast retrieves for treble hook baits and I do not want to put it under the "extreme" pressure you encounter when fishing slop and pads and grass and heavy cover.

Just stick to the name brands and you should not have a problem no matter which path you decide to travel.

Either or, even spinning. Pretty much zero memory so no real messes. Just put on a back on the casting reels and don't have your finger under the line when you set the hook.

I have the Quantum Energy burner with braid on it and no problems. I'm pretty sure the tour should also have no problems with it. I do know a few people that have the Tour and haven't mentioned any braid problems. I'd assume it works pretty well because they haven't taken the braid off of it.

I tried out the Revo S with Sufix Braid installed @ 30lb test. I don't know if its where I have a longer rod now from 6' to 6'6" which is much better or that Braid casts this well. I like it alot. It feels a lot different something you have to get use to. It's almost sometimes like casting weedwacker line. On my second cast on my new setup I got a small 1lb dink but it was off a creature bait. I was wondering if the braid would be a problem with clear water. I guess not.
