  1. I have the same rod and I used it for flippin quite often it's a steal for $90 bucks. It handles braid fine 65lb to be exact and is made from St. Croix. I love mine and wouldn't have it any other way !!!
  2. I joined the forums not too long ago, I was pretty new at bass fishing. I new how to fish a rubber worm and that was all. The jig n pig I had no idea what it was about. I bought 12 jigs from G-Man about a year and half ago. They have been fished 10 times at most. I fished them with all difference types of trailers as well. 0 fish I never understood until today.I fished G-Man football jig w/ a Zoom Speed Craw Okeechobee trailer. Black and Blue and finally landed a nice fish, biggest of this year on it. It is also my first fish on my St. Croix 7' HF Mojo Bass rod and a Quantum Accurist PT. Both performed flawless, also on 65lb Sufix Braid. Thanks to RW for the jig help and G-Man for a quality Jig. She went a mean 3 lbs 6 ozs. And was nice to land. Sorry Camera Phone Pics....
  3. 7'0 St. Croix Mojo Slop N Frog Quantum Accurist 7.0:1 50lb Sufix Perfomance Braid Spro Bonzeye and BPS Humpin Toads Have yet to catch a bass this year on this setup from a frog, still waiting on # 1 !!!
  4. I think you guys missed this....definitely the problem. You can't just bury the hook in the blunt end of the Ika; there is no way for the hook to pop out and stick the fish's mouth when you set the hook. You need to tex-pose it normally....in one side and out the other. Your exactly right, when I set the hook I just had that feeling that the hook was buried down in the blunt end of the Ika. I will texpose the hook next time and see what I can do. Thanks man.
  5. By far the most effective bait that I used today, but was having trouble setting the hook. I did hook it backwards, but i just stuck the hook through the start of the Ika. Is that correct? and what is a good /0 hook for these baits, RW if your out there can you please help. Or anyone with Ika experience. What a great bait !!
  6. Ebay is by far the best place. I got the 09 Quantum Catalyst for $79 NIB and the Energy PT 09 for $ 118. You have to be patient and you'll get a great deal.
  7. So far I've tried using Spiderwire 100% & Yo Zuri Hybrid fluorocarbons. And I've noticed they are not the easiest in the world to cast. I was wondering if Trilene 100% was a good one to try or if you know of a good one that has worked for you let me in on it. Using a 09 Energy PT Burner on a Kistler MAG TS 6'9" for worm fishing. Thanks for all your help,
  8. I just bought a Kistler Mag TS 6'9" and I'm quite impressed. It has great sensitivity and looks and feels great. I have to get used to the no foregrip but other than that money well spent.
  9. Yeah I've been without a rod for about a week now so I gave up on ebay for a rod. I ended up getting the Kistler Magnesium 6'9" MH. I did however find the new Quantum Energy Baitcaster for $ 118 !!! That was a heck of a deal. I just hope I don't break the kistler, there exchance/warranty/prorated plan looks shady. I now have two mojos and a kistler. Next time I upgrade I'm look at Powell,Custom, and possibly the Legend Tournment by Croix. Take care thanks again,
  10. I bought three when they were on sale at BPS a couple months back. It's a nice reel. I've had no problems. I've loaded them down w/ braid, flucarbon, and mono. NO problems at all, the flippin switch is nice as well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy they are a nice starter reel.
  11. Carrot Stick 69 LTX vs Kistler 69 Magnesium LTA I would get an Avid but can't find a 66MHF in stock anywhere and in my price range of $ 150. Also is the Kistler lighter than the 7 ft Mojo? Thanks
  12. I was contemplating picking one up escepecially in the HS, do you guys think they are better than the new Quantum Engerg PTs? I have the Catalyst PT and I absolutely love it. Just wondering, sounds like a good deal. Make sure you click on clearance then fishing, if you select fishing first they won't be listed.
  13. Thanks for all your help, Dan I plan on using it for shore fishing where there is a lot of trees around, and I love to fish worms, creature baits, anything weightless or a small texas rig. I need more help deciding, b/w Carrot Stix, Avid, G.Loomis Mossyback 803, Powell Max..or suggest others please
  14. Which do you think is better investment? You can suggest a little higher priced one if you think it's worth it. I like the Carrot Stix Gold, Kistler TS, and others in this price range, but the Energy PT and Mojo look enticing.
  15. I am pairing this with a Quantum Accurist PT and I had it on a 7' M pole and it was horrible. I'm looking for a good 6'6" MH Rod that is around $120 bucks and is proven to be a good rod. Thanks,
