Ill let you know next monday. I am going to Venice, La on fri. for some redfish and speck action. I have spent the last month playing with different rods for this trip. I normally use my extreme rods BUT I decided to treat myself.

Anyway, after borrowing a lot of different high end rods from friends, the American Rodsmith Titanium Ultra series was the one I chose. It was between that and a Kistler but my buddy said that the Kistler lacks the sensitivity of any of his Loomis rods. So, I got a 7'M spinning rod and paired it with a new Abu Garcia 702 spooled with 30lb sufix Braid. The rod is light and has good action but haven't fished it. Hopefully it will prove itself on a 40" Red :)

BTW~I called the company to discuss a certain rod and an actual person answered. Her name was Kim and she knew everything about the rods and what would be a good redfish rod that would spend most of the time freshwater bass fishing. We talked for 30 minutes and that is a real bonus to me.

i recently got a 6'7" med light "champions" series american rodsmiths rod.  it is called their "finesse" rod.  i have yet to catch a LMB with it, but it handled whites ranging from 10 inches up to two pounds or so really well.  i have a shimano sahara 2500 reel on it, spooled with 10lb power pro and a trilene flouro leader.  i think i am going to return the reel.  it is a bit heavy for what i wanted, if they have a smaller size i will just exchange it, if not i will look for something else.  all in all i think it is a great rod, cant wait to catch some LMB with it!

I own the following:

    2  AT-66MHC 6'6"

    2  ARS-7MH Genesis Titanium 7"0"

I did not purchase any. They were either given to me by reps or won in a tournament. They are fine rods and if I was looking for a rod I would not hesitate to purchase one.

I stick with my falcon rods, st. croix, and shimano crucials.

So did you have a bad experience with American Rodsmiths or have you not fished one?

I may be in the market for one of their rods as well, so I'm looking for feedback as well.

When I was talking to AR on the phone, the girl also informed me about a great buy! Academy carries some of their rods made specifically for Academy. These rods are called the Genesis and Apex. The apex is a split grip. I was told that these rods had the exact same components but had their older blanks. They have titanium guides and are 42million modules.

I went to academy and got 2 Apex titaniums for $50/piece. The lady told me that these same materials would sell for $150 2 years ago. So now I have 3 of these rods and I'll let you know what I think. I can already tell you, that the $50 rods are a great deal if looking for a bargain rod.
