I've been using the Ambassadeur reels for several years now, I'd like to try something new but dont want to be disappointed,looking at the revos or curados.

Revo S,SX or STX, you cannot go wrong with any of them. Dont own a Curado but i hear good things.

is something like that worth the upgrade, these reels have served me well for years.

The Revos will serve you well for years, as well.

If you like round Abu reels, but want more modern features, check out the Abu Garcia EXT Pro.  I have two of these and they are great reels.  They will cast forever.  They are a wee bit tempermental, but their performance is outta this world.  

 

FIshed most of my years with the 5500 series.  Mostly the older models.  Just  went to lo-pro reels over winter.  There is nothing you can do with the 5500 that the revo s can't.  And you'll find the lo-pros are so much more comfortable.

I'm sure these guys that have fished with them alot longer can attest to the comfort theory.

The comfort of a low pro to a round in my opinion is incomparable. You can palm them so much better plus, they look cool 8-).
