Has anyone fish with the new Abu Black Max? I remember my buddy having one years ago and I did not like it. How would you rate the reel?

years ago he was using a round black max wich i  own about 23 of and love them.now he could have had a low profile black max wich i have tried not a bad reel but pretty big for a low pro  .the new black max they have  now is based on a revo  but made with a graphite frame and such i have a few of these also and to answer your question they do a great job are smooth and cast a mile you wont be dissiapointed  

i have one. the other poster is correct...they can cast a mile. however, it's not particularly smooth on the retrieve. my black max and my pro max have already gotten a little noisy. still, for the price, a good value.

I would just save your money and get a Revo. I bought a Silvermax, and sold it the next day. I just got myself a Revo SX and I am in love with it.
