Question for Saltwater/Inshore People

Recommended Posts

Most of my fishing is freshwater. However, I do a fair amount of saltwater inshore fishing while traveling. I need a new setup for freshwater flippin (braid line). Could I use an Energy PT (inshore) rig with a medium heavy to heavy rod for flipping freshwater AND inshore stuff? I researched and it seems to be a no-brainer. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Sounds like a good setup to me.  My salt/fresh setup is a 7'2" Cumara, and a 100 calcutta.  I spool it with 40lb power pro.  For fresh I use it for jigs, topwater frogs etc...  For salt I use it for 1/2oz gold spoons and spinner baits.  I mostly fish for reds and speckled trout down here.  I find the small size of the calcutta easy to palm so my hand does not get tired after a long day.  Obviously this setup is more catered to salt but it gets the job down in fresh.  Good luck

It would work perfectly. I mostly fish inshore saltwater and just started getting serious with freshwater fishing and I use most of my gear for double duty. The only difference IMO are the lures.
