just got back from the Academy while I was looking at the reels the salesman told me that any shimano reel over $75.00 you geet a free rod(cantar) I was looking at a citica 100 bucks and some change.so I checked out the cantar rods($99.00).so here is the question what is the difference between a freshwater rod and a inshore rod (6'3" line 8-17# lure1/4-3/4oz power med. action fast )also picked up a flipping stick by American rod smiths for 69.00

so here is the question what is the difference between a freshwater rod and a inshore rod

Dedicated inshore rods are usually built with guide that will stand up to the salty environments.
