What do you mean you don't know ? Get the best you can afford.

For me it would depend on the gear ratio I want. For example, the Curado E comes either in a 7:1 or 5:1 gear ratio.

If you desired a 6.x:1 reel, you would have to get the Citica E. I think the Curado is also .2 oz lighter but I could be wrong.

Determine your need and the final decision will be easier to make. Or you can do it in the way of the dark side and get at least one of each. ;D

With the new citica and curados the decision does not come down to which is better.  The decision is solely based upon which gear ratio best fits your needs.  The citica comes in the "regular" gear ratio and the curado in the "high" speed and "cranking" ratios.

If I were you I'd get a new citica and use the $60 difference to upgrade to a g loomis IMX rod. Maybe the 783c 6'6" or 843c 7' mbr. On ebay I think you can get them at around $180.

This is a good all around setup.

well its not I cant afford one over the other but I am not made of money either so I COULD buy the citica and use the money towards a better rod as Redsyn said I want to also pick up a cardiff / allstar mayb combo in 7' MH or so for heavier stuff and trollin so this rod will have to pick up the slack for a while as and all around rod and thats why I some what am leaning towards the citica (i think it looks better too and on the wallet)  8-)

well I guess the real question is that: is it better to spend my money on the reel or should I spend it on the rod??

Personally, I'd spend it on the rod.

Get both and problem solved, the only trouble I have is deciding which one I 'm gonna purchase first.  :)

Loomis has a life time warranty. So you are probably be able to use it for the rest of your life unless you lose it.

The reel would last you about 7 yrs. I'm sure it will work a lot longer then that but by then you'll probably want a new one anyways. So if it makes you feel any better $180 for the curado divided by 7. It only cost like $26 per year. ::)

if preformance ,smoothness.is a questionon what to buy  trying to upgrade my reels as money is available  i had about 8  abu garcia reels" turno" style have been buying shimino curado 100d,have about 3-4 more reels to replace   citica----curado100 d-----curado e's   what is your opinion on these three reels   what to buy the gear ratio on the e does not bother me  you can allways slow down.   does any one have these three reels to compare to each other one think on the e  i like they say it fits lower on reel seat for i have small hands  kb  comparing these reels to curado's100's
