I have been looking around on various websites looking for either 1/4 or 3/16oz craw colored rattletrap. I cant seem to find any online and i need a few for a local lake with smaller largemouth and spots that can eat a 1/2 trap.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Bass Pro Shops have Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap® Mini-Trap® 1/4 oz & Tiny trap® 1/8 oz  

The size of the bass should not be the big concern when choosing the size of the lure.  Small bass will hit baits bigger then they are.  When choosing a size of bait I find that the most important thing is to match the size of the bait fish they are feeding on.  Lucky Craft makes a couple of smaller versions that are great baits.

Believe it or not I get most of my Rat-L-Traps from Wal-Mart. They have a pretty good selection and sell some colors that I don't think are available anywhere else. Bass Pro has a decent selection of 1/4oz too. For the record I love 1/4 and even 1/8 oz traps. I think they're very underrated. good luck

Rapala makes a smaller-sized rattle trap that is a little larger than the mini Bill Lewis one.  They are really beautiful and perfect for smaller-sized bass.  I picked a couple up at Cabela's the other day but haven't had a chance to try them out yet.  I think the Bill Lewis mini ones are too small.  

The 1/8oz Rat-L-Traps are a great choice for river Smallies.

well said cb. i have caught a boat load of fish over 5#'s using the 1/4 oz. trap. with that being said, i have also caught a mess of small fish (14inches or smaller) on the 1/2 oz and the 1 oz.  trap. go figure.

Very true......here's the proof. LM Bass on a 1/2oz Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap and the bass was only 10" if that.

What gets me is I can't catch a bass on a Rat-L-Trap with a steady retrieve.  Every bass I've caught on a trap has hit it within seconds of it hitting the water.  I think I hit this bass in the head because he hit it a second after it splashed the water.  What I can't overcome is catching bass on a trap consistently.  I've tried all kinds of retrieves.

everytime i catch one on a rat-l-trap its when im reelin back in to change lures. it happens everytime and cbfishalot i agree as well, i caught a tiny bass on a 1/2oz RAT-L-TRAP last weekend.

I usually just throw it into hydrilla, let it sink into it, then rip it out, I cant tell you how many times this has worked. Or let it sink next to some cover, then rip it, and if you dont get a hit right away retrieve with a fast rip medium retrieve fast rip medium retrieve, ect.
