BPS CRankin' Stick

Featured Replies

Thinking about getting a new crankbait rod for shallow cranks and probally some top water (Replacing a cheap Cabela's E-Glass Spinning rod.) I saw these BPS Crankin' Sticks and was wondering if they're alright. I assume there not the greatest, but I'm on a very tight budget. Any info would be appreciated and other recomendations are as well.

Thanks,

Jacob

The BPS crankin sticks are great rods for crank baiting.  I'd suggest waiting for a sale to get an even better bargain.

I've been using a Crankin Stick for three years, and I'm very happy with it.

J_Zink is right. Wait until they go on sale.

I don't own one but have used my friends on several occasions.  Its actually a really nice rod.  I agree with everyone else; you cannot beat them when they are on sale.

It would have to be an emergency purchase for me to ever buy a BPS rod that was not on sale.  You should be able to get the crankin stick for under $40 sometime this fall.  Just watch the website and when it goes on sale print out the info and take it into the store.  They'll match the price there.

I wish I could go to a BPS, but the closest one is in Las Vegas >:) Thanks for the info, I'll wait until they go on sale.

Thanks,

Jacob

I own a lot of $200 - $ 400 rods for soft plastics and jigs because I'm willing to pay more for the extra sensitivity. With that being said I own 2 BPS cranking sticks and have been very happy with them. The one I use for the majority of my cranks is the 7' med. model, I use the 7' MH when fishing cranks that have a lot of resistance such as the Norman DD22.

i have not fished one but, i must say, i find it somewhat humorous that BPS asked stacey king to design ths rod for them and he does so specifying fiberglass but BPS takes it upon themselves to tweak it by adding in graphite to the blank. it's in the BPS description.  ;D

I read that too....pretty funny...Each day, it seems I like Bass Pro less and less.
