Looking for new reel.

Featured Replies

I am looking to buy a baitcasting reel for less than 200 dollars.  What do you think would be the best quality reel I could buy for under that price?  Thanks.

HEY THEYRE IS ALOT OF NICE LOW BUDGET REELS ON THE MARKET IF I WERE YOU ID STAY REALLY LOW AND GET TWO OR EVEN GET A REALLY NICE COMBO I WENT TO ACADEMY AND BOUGHT TWO QUANTUM ACCURIST-AC500 EACH WAS 49.99 THEY ARE AND 05 MODEL BUT THEY ARE AWSOME CAST A MILE SUPER STRONG DRAG AND ARE PRETTY LIGHTWEIGHT IM A SERIOUS BELIVER THAT REELS ARE WAY OVER PRICED I STAY LOW FOR REELS BUT I DONT SPEND AND DO PURCHASE QUALITY RODS, I.E. AMERICAN RODSMITH AND ALL-STAR RODS

I love my Shimano citica and they are only around $120 so for $200 you could have a new rod and reel setup. A lot of guys on here are also fans of the Shimano Curado which is a step up from the Citica and I think brand new they run around $150 - $190 depending on if you get the 07 or 08 model.

Try some smaller local shops. I found some left over Curado Ds for way under $100. There's still some left out there.

under 200 bucks?

Heck man the BRAND new Shimano Curados are only 180.

20 bucks to spare and it sounds like it will be a superb reel!!
