So I was at Wal Mart last night and saw these hooks. Looked interesting and the package suggested using them for senko style baits and soft jerkbaits. I bought two packs, one 1/16 oz and one 1/32 oz.

Have you guys tried something like this, and did you like them? This was the first time I'd seen these types of hooks.

They are for soft jerkbaits and swimbaits.

A tip I learned here is to thread the eye of the hook through the nose of the baits as apposed to tearing up your plastics pulling that weight through.

I bought some for a couple of my smaller swimbaits. Haven't used them yet though.

Bought the ones made by Falcon in a 1/32 size.

These do work great.I understand how to thread the hook eye through first since obviously you cant force it through a senko or other bait.What I dont like Is that in order to do this you must cut off and retie your line evertime you need a new bait.Am I missing something? This is kind of a pain in the behind.

  I did buy these though and they serve the same function but need to find a style that is as low 1/32 oz. these ar 1/16.

I just bought them at WalMart too!!!! Last week they had em on the clearance rack. I pln on trying them after ice out on Alurring 5 in Salty ***  Can't wait 8-)

Very good advice, that weight will make a giant gap in the bait and have it foul on the hook more often...

I use that hook for Super Flukes in the 5/0 size. I take a small knitting needle, push it into the belly slit and out through the nose. I then hook my line on the needle and pull it though the head and then tie on the hook. After tying on the hook, I pull the hook eye into the bait head and Txpose the hook point. I can catch numerous bass without it being torn up as most of the time the Fluke just slides up the line while fighting the fish. It may take more time than tying the hook on first but the bait lasts a lot longer and pulling the offset part through using non-weighted hook pre-tied does more damage than the way I do it.

Yup, love them on senkos and flukes. Usually fish them in grass to get the bait down, when its windy, or when the fish are deeper but thats the only thing you can get them on. The also give the bait a different type of fall.

And don't worry about tearing up the bait.  No need to retie.  The idea is to get the thing eaten before it comes down to the bait tearing more  It widens the inside diameter of the hole but not a whole lot, thats why they taper the edge of the lead where it meets the hook.

I use Falcon Weighted Hooks. They are basically the same thing but the lead is molded in the exact spot to keep the fluke perpendicular. They also use Gammy Superline hooks.
