Has anyone used these reels, are the good, would you say they have the quality of and 100.00$ reel?

I have an older round model, perhaps 10yrs old and small, a series 3600 maybe. It's been a very good, solid, dependable reel. As "smooth" as the $100 reels? um probley not, but then few of the older reels are as smooth as the new generation ones are.

I played with one for a little while... Needless to say, it didnt compare to the STX's I use regularily. That said, I played with a Silvermax too, seems to be a much better built reel for another $10 or whatever. I picked one of those up for a spare rod I had around and put it through the paces over the weekend and it seems to be pretty sturdy as well.

no its not even close to a $100 reel. you can get a citica for $119.

if youre lookin to buy a reel from walmart, theres this bright orange reel made by pinnnacle that is like 60 bucks that is awesome. it has 9 bearings or somthing.. i cant remember the name. my buddy bought one to have as a spare to fish in tourneys and he now uses it as his main c-rig reel.

granted when you dedicate a reel to only c-rigging it doesnt have to be the highest performing reel in the world, but it casts a mile and handles the 3/4-1oz weight well.

i want one kinda....lol. ;D

p.s.  found it, its the solene.

I've been eying that reel as well...good to hear that it seems to be worth it.... There's a black pinnacle at walmart too for around 100 that looks enticing

Save your money, Black Max is of poor quality. I have one and a Pro Max which you can buy at Cabelas. For the Extra money the quality goes way up.

I have two buddies that use them. I've used them as well. They are excellent for the money and my buddies prefer the Black Max over their Revo S's. They also fish tourneys regularly so i trust in their opinion. I don't know how they will fare over a year or two of tournament use but for the average angler they are an excellent beginner baitcaster.

I played with both the Black and the Silver Max and I have to say that the silver max was way better. I have two of them for the kids to use and I have to admit that I have fished the silver max with a Fluke on a cherry stick rod all day and never missed a fish. Just goes to show you that we don't need all those fancy rods and reels.........OOOOOOK down Bait monkey down. :D
