Quantum Energy PTI-A Spinning Reel

Featured Replies

Any of you guys using this reel, is it any good? Pros/cons about the Energy PTI?

I have one and I like it okay. Its a solid reel but but performance wise its just okay. If you can get one on sale it would be worth t but I think there are better options out there.

Very nice reel! I'm not a Quantum fan but I'm impressed! Very smooth, nice solid reel!  If it wasn't so heavy, I'd get one.

The line hangs up on the bail on the one I've got.

Bassbrat, do you close the bail manually w/ your hand or do you crank it over to close the bail?

I bought one when they first came out. Bought another one the next year.

Very solid and smooth, with excellent drags. What else do you look for in a spinning reel?

With this particular reel you have to close it by hand , if you didn't the line would not sit right on the bail. Other then that it is a solid reel.

Had one and sold it. It was ok, though as stated, a bit heavy. There are better options out there in the price range and for less. Instead of spending on this reel, I would grab a TD Tierra or Advantage, Shimano Stradic or Saros or a Abu Garcia Cardinal 800 series. Or save $50 and get a Daiwa Exceller, solid reel. I'm a Shimano fan, especially with their spinning reels but that Daiwa stuff is rock solid at a good price
