old Johnny Morris BC

Featured Replies

Does anyone have this reel or have tried it. Any info on it because I can't find anything. It's supposed to be a $200 reel from what I heard.

Pros and Cons?

I am thinking of picking one up from BPS because it's $100. How does it compare to similiar reels?

Model # JMP10H

That is not the new Johnny Morris Signature. Not sure how old that one is.

With that being said I have had the Signature(rather heavy) the Elite(1oz lighter) and they both worked very well. But I went back to my old reliable Shimanos and picked up a couple new Curados and am waiting for the left handed Cticas to become available. They are much lighter and smoother too me.

Where did you see JMs for $100. They are $180 and $220 on-line and $150 and $190 in the Christmas catalog?

Later, :)

They're actually selling those in the stores?

That's actually a 2004 model without the chrome plated finish.  You can find those just about every day on Ebay in new or like new condition for far less than $100.  It's a 10 bearing model but only had a 6 pin centrifugal braking system.  The latest JM Sig reel along with the previous models had dual braking on them.

I guess $100 is expensive for it. I was wondering if someone used it before because I was curious.
