Jerkbait rod

Featured Replies

I've got a question for the loomis guys. Right now I'm using a custom MBR783 for big pointers (128s) and a BPS Pro Qualifier 6'6"M for regular pointers (78s and 100s). I'm looking to build a loomis rod that can handle the full range of pointers, from 78s to 128s. What IMX model would you guys recomend ;)

if i had to chose one mbr for those three weights, it would be the mbr 783...personally, think the mbr 782 has the much better tip for 78's and 100's but, the 128 will be overload on the cast...the 783 will handle the 100's and 128's but, imo, doesn't give the right tip for the lighter 78's.

you may wanna look at the cbr 845 and cut it down...a stock cbr 785 is also available now...imo, it handles those three weights much better than any one mbr.

the cbr 756 is another, tho shorter, option.

I'm a GLommis nut and have too many (wife says). Believe it or not the one I use to throw pointers (100,128), megabass, and Jackalls' is my CBR 847. I have the CBR845 that is use for small to med cranks, and the 847 for the larger cranks and jerk baits. I used it once when it had the line type i wanted to throw and said "what the heck". All my 783's, 784's had to heavy of a line. It worked great and i've been using it for that ever since.
