And yet that's the way it is. Only you and RW seem to despise the Revo's brake. Those that have used my advice have come back to this board and stated the advice works, and so does the brake. Your experience with the Revo's brake seems very isolated in the scheme of things.

Actually, in my years of spending time on fishing forums I've never seen a fishing reel that had so many complaints by experienced fishermen on the operation of the reel to prevent backlash as the Revo SX and STX had.  None.

The Revo is the first one in my recollection that guys were bailing on the reel due to it's finicky nature.  Not just me and RW, plenty of fella's had problems.  I suppose had I decided to just stick with Garcia because I've been using their reels for 35 years I never would've realized there was better.
