Hey guys I'm getting confused here, I kept some info from a fisherman on picking a worm & jig rod, he ends it with this advice

Best rod: A lightweight, highly sensitive rod, 6 1/2 feet to 7 1/2 feet, made of graphite with a medium action and a medium light tip.

I'm having a tuff time on matching up with his request, ON

medium action and a medium light tip.

is he talking simply about Action & power?

As you point out, there is power and there is action.  Two different things.  

Power is usually something like light, medium, medium heavy, heavy.

The action of the rod is sort of speed rated, such as slow, medium, medium-fast, fast, extra-fast. Here's a brief explanation.

IMO, a good worm rod should be a medium or medium-heavy power, and a fast or extra-fast action.

Thanks Micro, yep I understand the power and action, I guess then it came down to the Lingo,  medium light tip comment, maybe he shouldn't have thru the word tip on there and confused me :-[

I too use MH and just recently last year tried a M, now as I look at it I wonder why he went with a ML?
