Any one try Ardents new F500 Flip-n-pitch reel

Just got mine today.  Spooled it up with 50# Sonic Braid and was pitching around the house....WOW...super smooth.  Can't wait for the weekend to come.

How much does it weigh? Couldn't find specs on it anywhere that listed the weight - that always makes me suspicious. I did take note that Denny Brauer has signed up with Ardent and claims to have participated in the product development of the F500. Interesting.

I don't know the exact weight but actually it's heavier than i expected it to be.  When I get home, I'll see if it has the weight printed anywhere on the box.  Or I'll just go put it on the scale.

I put the reel on the scale and it was bouncing back in forth from 9.8 - 10 ounces.  The reel was spooled with 50# Sonic Braid.  

Buddy and I each picked up an Ardent (don't remember model) at a show last year. Within about a months' worth of action (used it for pitching with 30 pound braid) it was shot to _____, making all sorts of noises and such. Didn't have the drag cranked down or really abuse it. Needless to stay I will stick to Abu. Hope you guys have better luck.

Tin.....Was it RED in color?  The C400 ring a bell? If so, they had some problems with them so they re-did them.  If you get a C400, make sure it's the grey one and not red (burgandy).   The XS1000 and XS600 are great reels.  The only thing I dislike about them is they sit to high on the rod.  They could make it a little more LOW PROFILE.  Just my thoughts.
