Cranking rods with long butts?

Featured Replies

Who makes a good quality cranking rod with a long butt?  My Elite Tech Crankshaft rod has a butt section about 10 inches long.   When I'm palming my reel, the end of the butt section does't quite reach my elbow.  I think the butt on my rod is about 10 inches or so.   I'd like to look at some cranking rods with some longer butt sections.  Any ideas?

ask sir-mix-alot.

Take a look at the Quantum KVD rods.  The butt on the 7'10 model is right at 15" from the reel seat back.  It will almost tuck under my arm.

Browse the rods at Tackle Warehouse as they have photos of everything and give a good idea of how long the butt is.

burly is rifht that is th the rod that u are looking for...i have one and it owns.

How are Quantum rods?  As good as their reels?

Damned if I know.  The rod is pretty light for the size.  I love foam and split handles, so it was the only thing out there I had an eye for.
