Could not resist the Launcher

Featured Replies

Man I went into BPS in FT lauderdale tonight and was walking the isles found the 7 10 launcher and then the energy power model. Tried to walk away tried to even drag my self out of the store. I then bought it turned around almost returned it but I kept it. Spooled it all up with some XPS floro and may try some casts tonight just to see how it goes.

Could not help myself either from getting a couple of red eyes and series 4s cranks. Man i can not wait to get this out on the boat

:-?

Por que?

My first impression with the Quantum reels was that they felt 'tighter', or had tighter tolerances than their predecessor.  They seem to be a significant improvement over the blue Tour Edition PT that I ordered two of when they went on sale for $129 (I sold them soon after).  The KVD cranking rods should do their job well...it is the light/fast/sensitive blanks that are more competitive in the rod market.  I definitely dig my PT Superlite rods; the original Quantum Tour Edition rods were my first 'high end' rods back in '91.  That was the birth of the HSX blank that Lamiglas rolled for them.  Sorry...had a bit of nastagia.  Anyway...give us a review of the rods; China can be crappy or great....it varies quite a bit.

You didn't like the Blue Quatum Tour PT reel?  As in last years model.

Quantum rods are among the most underrated rods on this forum IMO.

I've got a 6' Tour spinning rod I use for skipping docks and love it.  I've also sold a few PT edition baitcasting rods over the past few years.  The rods have a really nice feel to them and are very light.

Yes this is the kvd rod. I put the new energy pt power model on it.  Igot out with it in the dark last night at my parents pond its long I can throw clearly 30 yards past my other cranking set up. The reel is very smooth and balances well on the rod. I managed to catch two fish on it it has plenty of power to move a fish. The length of the rod took some time to adjust to you can clearly move a lot of line. I will post a more detailed review when I can use it for a bit
