YOOOOO-ZURI

Recommended Posts

I did a search on yo-zuri hybrid. It seems to be one of the more popular lines on this forum and I am going to give it a try. Previously I have use suffix elite on all of my baitcasters. This year I am keeping the sufix on the topwater rig but am wanting to switch to the yo-zuri hybrid on my two other baitcasters. I have read that the ultrasoft works best on spinning reels. My question is, (1) would the ultrasoft cast better than the orig. hybrid, or should I just stick with the regular 12# yo-zuri hybid? What do yall think?

(2) Also, how does the yo-zuri cast compared to the sufix elite. If it is a lot less "manageable", maybe I will just stick with the suffix.

I have Ultrasoft on baitcasters (12lb) and spinning gear (6lb). IMHO it's great on both. The Ultrasoft is more manageable than the Hybrid. Both do better with KVD line conditioner. Have never used Elite, can't give an opinion on the difference :D

I liked the orig. hybrid #10 for skippin docks with a spinning rod because its tough and abrasion resistant, but I dont use it for much else because it has a larger line diameter than comparable lines, and is fairly stiff...I have not tried the ultrasoft tho, so cant speak on that

Haven't tried Sufix. For the same price or less you can get the Hybrid.

Been using it a few years with no trouble. Ultrasoft for spinning.

Stay with the Sufix for topwater though.

When comparing the ultra soft to the original you have to keep in mind that the ultra soft has a higher mono content than the original, that is how it is made softer. The original is more abrasion resistant and a bit denser than the ultra. Good luck, btw the diameter of these lines is comparable or smaller than mono or floro, they are not thicker.

I like it better than the suffix seige that I replaced with Hybrid.

I used 8lb regular hybrid all last year, and had absolutely ZERO prolems with memory. No line conditioner. Nothing.

On Pflueger 8030 Supremes. Which have a pretty small spool.

Click the bail manually like you should be.

Thanks for the input.  I'm thinking maybe I will try the 10 or 12 pound on both.......putting the ultrasoft on one and the orig. hybrid on the other.  I guess the only way i can truly judge is to try it myself.  Appreciate the input though!  I am just having a hard time stepping away from the sufix.  It casts so well and is tough to beat.  Just seems like everyone is getting on the fluoro/hybrid/copoly bandwagon and liking it.
