I was in Dicks earlier and saw a Team Diawa spinning reel and rod outfit.  It was only $19.99, and I'm a poor college student. So would it be worth it?

    Depends! For that cost it can't be too awesome BUT you can catch fish on a rod and reel with any price. I fished with some pretty cheap stuff throughout the years and they did just fine. Can you give us some more detail on what it is? Like the action of the rod  and what type of reel it is?

    not gonna be the greatest of all combos but it will catch fish...My first bass combo was a Shakspeare Cirrus combo that turned into a Mitchell Advocet and Lightening rod....
