Is it possible to change the gear ratio on a reel?

Like I was thinking of buying the new energy pt, but they dont have 5:1 in left hand version, could i just have the 5:1 gears put into the left handed reel even if they are gears for a right handed reel?

Depends on the reel, you can change the gear ratio in the Citica and Curado.

Depends on the reel, you can change the gear ratio in the Citica and Curado.

But you can't put the righty Curado gears into a lefty Citica, and I don't think you can with any other reel either.

Ok, I 'll rephrase it and be more specific  ::

Depends on the reel, you can swap gears between Curados and Citicas, no, you can 't swap gears between lefties and righties.

The original post specifically asked about putting righty gears into a lefty reel, that's why I thought some clarification was necessary.
