Looking at a 6'6" carrot stix medium power, and moderate fast action. Would this be a functional setup for jerkbaits? Also, would the moderate fast tip still be alright on the hookset if I threw small soft plastics with it from time to time?

Jerkbaits, yes.

Soft plastics, no.

I've used mine for shakyheads, dropshotting, senkos, and even football jigs in a sqeeze! I have never lost a fish doing either one.

i think it will work for either one but better for jerkbaits definitely.
