p line cx or silver thread an 40

Featured Replies

Going to gander mtn to pick up some line for my crankin setup today.  10# is what I want.  Which of the above lines would you pick and why?

I think the p line is thicker....but if I bought a smaller pound p line test would it be the same buying the next size up silver thread an40.

I know some manufacturers inflate their breaking strength number by calling it 10# test (even though the line diameter may be equal to that of 12 # test).

For me, I am looking for a combination decent strength and castability (I fish in Michigan......a 5 pounder is a BIG fish here most of the time!).

Let me know what yall think or use for cranking!

I am currently using 10lb CXX and it works great...10-12lb CX would probably be a good choice as well....have some 14lb an 40 and prefer the P-line..
