G Loomis SMR822S-GLX vs. G Loomis SJR782-GLX

Featured Replies

I am interested in upgrading my spinning rod.  I have narrowed it down to these two.  I would use this rod mainly for shaky heads, skipping lures around docks, flukes, and other finesse techniques.  I've tried my buddies SJR843-IMX, but the tip of the rod seemed a little too stiff for what I want to use it for and the length made a little tougher for accuracy purposes.  My only concern with the two rods I listed is if they would have enough power to pull fish away from docks.  Therefore, if you happen to have either one of these rods, and if you wouldn't mind, please let me know what you use it for and your overall impression of its performance.  Thanks in advance.

The SJR is a fast action rod, the SMR is an extra fast action rod better suited for the type of baits you are mentioning. Will they have enough power ? well, my regular lake is a jungle of huizache brush, mesquite trees and willow trees and I fish it with a SJR782S
