Featured Replies

what rod would you buy if you are going to use it for fishing a frog

a baitcasting rod  6' 6"  mheavy  with fast tip

a baitcasting rod 7'     mh   fast tip

spinning rod       6'6"    mh    fast tip

spinning rod      7'        mf fast tip

the brand i would go with is a st croix

I would go with a 7' H/F, probably the Legend Tournament Bass LTBC70HF or the Mojo Bass MBC70HF.

Later, :)

A St Croix 7' MH/Fast casting rod would make a pretty good frog rod as long as you are not intending to fish the thickest cover you can

find. I use 2 rods for Frogging, a 6'10" MH/F Avid, and a 7' H/F Mojo. I really like the Avid around docks and over hanging trees/bushes etc. The shorter length lest me skip and/or cast a frog into tight places with pinpoint accuracy, and the rod is plenty powerfull. I am not to sure on the Mojo yet, I replaced a 7' H Fenwick HMX with it, but I might not keep it, it's a broomstick and is not light either, I might go back to the HMX, we shall see I have not used that Mojo yet, but it was the only ones of the 3 I bought that I was only luke warm about and the more I hold it, the less I like it.
